1.Install apps from other sources than Playstore: This doesn’t seem to bother many users, but the downside is such apps may contain malware or they may use your device information, etc., to sell for third party markets
2.Not reducing Screen on(Sleep) time: If it is not required, you can reduce your screen on time to the least possible say (15 or 30 secs). This small change along with reducing your brightness while indoor usage may substantially improve your battery performance
You can even reduce your screen brightness to the minimum possible by using apps like screen dimmer from Playstore.
3.Install unnecessary apps: It is a waste of RAM to install certain apps like Antivirus, Cleaner, Battery saver, RAM Expanders, etc. Since Android may not affect by any virus unless you install any apps from untrusted sources. Recently I’ve seen some apps claim to increase your inbuilt RAM from 2GB to 16GB, don’t trust them they’re trash
4.Clear Recent Apps list: Most of the genius think that they’re saving battery by removing apps from recent lists
but what they fail to understand is they’re making it worse, Android stores apps in memory so that you can easily open it the next time. It takes a negligible amount of power for it. If you clear your recent list, it takes more power to load it next time from scratch, this is the reason you shouldn’t use cleaning apps
5. Rooting: This is not true in all cases,
but rooting your android mobile voids its warranty may cause instability based on ROM you flash even though it has certain advantages. Unless you’re an expert or you know what you’re doing I suggest you not root your device.

6. Not turning off unused toggles: It’s better to off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Data, Location, Wifi scanning, Auto syncing when not in need to reduce the burden on the battery
